About the Role

We're looking for a practical, hands-on Asset Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of our LPG fleet and associated infrastructure across Australia.

Working within our LPG Operations & Field Services team, you'll play a key role in the management of heavy vehicle assets, maintenance programs, refurbishments, inspections, and capital projects. This is a diverse role that combines field-based operational support with office-based coordination, reporting, and stakeholder management.

You'll work closely with operations teams, maintenance providers, equipment suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure our LPG fleet and assets remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting out into the field, solving practical problems, working with heavy vehicles and equipment, and building strong relationships with operational teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing maintenance, refurbishment, and performance of our LPG fleet and associated plant equipment
  • Coordinate heavy vehicle build programs, modifications, repairs, inspections, and capital works projects
  • Monitor fleet performance, maintenance activities, asset reliability, and associated costs
  • Work closely with maintenance providers, workshops, contractors, and equipment vendors to ensure quality outcomes
  • Assist with incident investigations, damage assessments, and corrective action activities
  • Liaise with regulators and compliance bodies to ensure assets meet legislative and Dangerous Goods requirements
  • Coordinate statutory inspections, certification activities, and compliance programs
  • Review contractor and vendor performance relating to safety, quality, uptime, and cost
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, scopes of work, and asset records
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for operational teams across the business
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability, safety, and operational efficiency

About You

You're a mechanically minded engineer who enjoys working closely with operational teams and asset maintenance activities. You can confidently move between the workshop floor, operational sites, vendor meetings, and the office, balancing technical problem-solving with project coordination and stakeholder engagement.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working with heavy vehicles, mobile equipment, transport assets, or industrial plant
  • Exposure to maintenance, asset management, reliability, or fleet operations environments
  • Strong understanding of operational and maintenance processes
  • Ability to build relationships with contractors, vendors, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Practical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within LPG, fuel, gas, transport, logistics, or dangerous goods industries
  • Exposure to Dangerous Goods, NHVR, or similar regulatory environments
  • Experience managing contractors, workshops, or maintenance providers
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels, tankers, piping systems, or related infrastructure
  • Project coordination or capital works experience

Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to work with a nationally significant LPG fleet and asset base. You'll gain exposure to heavy vehicle maintenance, dangerous goods operations, regulatory compliance, capital projects, and fleet reliability initiatives while working alongside experienced operational and technical teams.

If you're looking for a role that combines engineering knowledge with practical operational involvement, this could be the perfect next step.
