About the role
The Field Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the Commissioning of field activities and projects relating to gathering systems, brownfields and other related projects in accordance with Asset Services strategic plan and Asset schedule and budget, to enable Asset performance and overall achievement of Integrated Gas strategic objectives. The position will regularly be managing the commissioning of scope involving multiple sites and contractors across all assets from east to west. They will manage scope at energisation stage to handover to operations including the stakeholder management required.
Please note this role can be locally based or FIFO (15 on 13 off Roster)
More about the role:
- Plan and execute the commissioning of new field infrastructure for gathering systems, brownfields, and other related projects. Ensure that these services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manner to support asset optimization, while managing project controls including schedule cost and safety performance
- Guarantee the safe and efficient planning and execution of commissioning activities, utilising operational experience and technical expertise as necessary
- Demonstrate safety leadership to peers and contractors, by setting an example for HSE compliance and ensuring that HSE targets are achieved. Make sure that all HSE systems, policies, and procedures of IG are followed, to promote positive HSE outcomes and ensure safe work practices are maintained
- Ensure adherence to the Safe Control of Work and Management of Change processes, and lead by example in demonstrating the required health, safety, and environmental behaviours and attitudes.
- Lead by example in demonstrating Origin values and leadership habits, actively supporting change initiatives that align with asset and overall IG strategy and outcomes
- Engage, develop, and coach contractors to create an environment of high compliance and collaboration
- Provide input and support for the commissioning strategies, offering input and advice during planning activities, as well as managing day-to-day interactions with contractors and stakeholders in accordance with the strategy
- Manage specific elements of the field's obligations related to delivering wells and executing projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all commissioning deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with the established core process
About you
Your extensive experience with commissioning infrastructure projects in the Oil & Gas or relevant industry sectors is your greatest asset. You're a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills, and you prioritise safety and quality assurance. Your resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills distinguish you.
More about you:
- Extensive oil and gas, mining or major projects industries
- Prior experience commissioning infrastructure projects; experience with gathering systems and/or brownfields desirable.
- Has experience in safe systems of work used to managed high risk process operations
- Experience operating in a multi-disciplinary technical teams and solving multi-disciplinary problems.
- Experience participating and reviewing designs and providing direction on commissioning where construction methodology or operational philosophy may be impacted or where efficiencies may be gained.
- Experience with quality assurance management systems and utilising them through the execution of major scope and projects.
- Degree or trade qualification in relevant field, with evidence of that qualification having been applied for >5 years
