Origin recognises the critical importance of cyber security and data privacy as it continues to innovate in getting energy right for our customers, community, and planet.   To support this, Origin has established a portfolio of Cyber Security projects focused on uplifting the organisation's overall security capability.


The Cyber Security program has been stood up to transform the way Origin works with sensitive and confidential information.  The program consists of several streams to implement security controls utilising Security tooling technologies such as,

  • Cisco AnyConnect and Umbrella for end points.
  • Cisco AMP for endpoints and email
  • Cisco ISE
  • Cisco Stealthwatch
  • Azure ATA
  • Azure Information protection


We need a dynamic, proactive, and highly capable Project Manager to work with a high-performing project team and ultimately deliver the Cyber Security program outcomes. 

The Role


The key focus areas of this role are:


  • Leading the Project through working closely with the Project Sponsor in translating the project vision into reality.
  • Planning, scheduling, monitoring and drive the project team's deliverables, activities and tasks.
  • Managing the performance of the solution vendor(s) and their teams' delivery as defined in the contract/SOW.
  • Management and signoff of deliverables and evidencing of project stage gates.
  • Managing expectations and interacting with key business and IT stakeholders, including applying sound organisational change management practices during the delivery of the project.
  • Identifying, logging, provide mitigation and driving resolution of risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Facilitate negotiations and manage dependencies between multiple internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
  • Providing support for the applicable governance process to ensure compliance by the project team, IT stakeholders and vendors
  • Experience working with the Agile/Scrum framework is a must as Agile/Scrum has been adopted to deliver Cyber security projects.
  • Working experience in business process modelling techniques is a plus.


You'll be expected to:​


  • Ensure that the project is delivered on-time, within approved budget and with high quality outcomes.
  • Ensuring that the solution delivered by the vendor(s) meets the requirements of the business and objectives of project sponsor.
  • Ensure escalation of risks and issues to Program manager and Project Sponsor are made in timely manner to resolve critical and major issues and risks thus removing roadblocks.
  • Ensure project status reporting with financial management of the project budget. are provided on time to Program and Portfolio management.


Is This You?


  • 8+ years of IT Project management experience preferably delivering improvements related to the security controls in scope of this project (e.g. end-point protection uplift, email security, etc.)
  • Practical experience with project management methodologies in both Waterfall model and Agile Scrum framework and utilisation of JIRA toolset are essential to have
  • Working experience and knowledge of the Energy market and sector
  • Working experience with network, end-user computing and server application rollouts / projects and with a security "acumen"
