The Role


Working in our Corporate Strategy and Development team and reporting to the Group Manager, Origin Group Strategy, this position is responsible for supporting the corporate strategy, valuations and analytical activities for Origin.


The role is responsible for:


  • Supporting the strategy development and analysis efforts of Origin across the energy chain
  • Driving Origin's understanding of domestic and global markets and business opportunities
  • Leading and managing valuations and modelling activities
  • Leading market and economic analysis and insights
  • Conducting strategic analysis including competitor benchmarking, market analysis, industry intelligence, scenario planning
  • Analysing key strategic opportunities across all areas of the business
  • Liaising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create free flow of ideas and information across the business
  • Preparing presentations and written materials to senior management and the Board to communicate key strategic and commercial insights


Is This You?


You'll need to be commercially astute, have outstanding interpersonal skills and highly analytical. You will have Tertiary qualifications that support the analytical and commercial demands of the role, such as finance, accounting, economics or engineering, as well as post graduate qualifications


You will have or be able to demonstrate:


  • Understanding of the energy supply chain and industry risks
  • Deep experience in and understanding of energy markets and capital markets
  • Significant experience in commercial / analytical positions
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate raw information into strategic insights, strategies and initiatives
  • Ability to lead strategic analyses such as performance analyses, competitive analyses, market analyses, etc
  • Demonstrated expertise in valuing assets and corporate transactions using a range of methodologies
  • Manage and conduct the evaluation of new investment / acquisition opportunities and communicate recommendations to senior management
  • An ability to use analytical thinking to investigate and solve complex problems
  • Highly numerate with the ability to build and interpret complex models
  • The ability to communicate clearly and inspire trust and confidence with colleagues and senior management, including presenting to the Executive Leadership Team
