About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Training & Competency Assessor to join our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team in a crucial 12-month contracting position.
As a member of our accomplished HSE team, you will play an integral role in enhancing the skills, safety, and competency of our operational and contractor workforce within Integrated Gas. This position offers a unique opportunity to travel throughout Southwest Queensland, encompassing areas such as Chinchilla, Miles, and Roma, while adhering to a lifestyle-friendly 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster. You will be responsible for delivering effective training, embedding Safe Control of Work (SCoW) practices, and fostering a multi-skilled, safety-oriented workforce. - Deliver and continuously improve operational and HSE training programs
- Conduct assessments and audits to ensure technical competency and compliance
- Implement SCoW processes across field teams and support national qualifications delivery
- Use insights from incidents to shape future training
- Collaborate with field leaders to foster a skilled, safe, and agile workforce
What will you bring?
You will be someone who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for developing others. Your hands-on experience in operational training and HSE means you understand the importance of compliance, culture and continuous improvement. You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working closely with field teams to drive capability uplift. You will also have:
- 5+ years' experience in HSE or operational training, ideally in field/facility environments
- Strong working knowledge of CSG operations, permit-to-work systems, and isolations
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain)
- Certificate III in Process Plant Operations (PMA)
- Solid understanding of relevant HSE legislation and competency frameworks
Desirable:
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools
- Post-grad qualifications in learning and development or vocational training
