Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful
At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.
About the role
We're looking for a Technology Change Lead to join our Asset Management & Operations Technology team. In this role, you'll be accountable for ensuring technology changes affecting Origin's Generation, Integrated Gas, and Network operational sites are planned, sequenced, and executed in alignment with site operational schedules, maintenance windows, and asset availability. You'll broker between technology delivery teams and site leadership — understanding the operational impact of proposed changes, holding both sides accountable to agreed plans, and ensuring change activity supports rather than disrupts site performance. This is a role that demands both operational discipline and strong stakeholder management across multiple asset-centric environments.
What you'll do
- Lead the planning and coordination of technology changes across Generation, Integrated Gas, and Networks sites — aligning change activity with maintenance schedules, outage windows, and asset availability to support safe and reliable operations.
- Act as the primary technology operations contact across supported business units, routing enquiries, managing escalations, and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Prepare, submit, and track Change Requests in line with established governance processes, ensuring proper approvals, notifications, and post-implementation reviews.
- Monitor and coordinate incident and service request tickets via ServiceNow, ensuring SLAs are met and issues are resolved promptly.
- Contribute to compliance and resilience activities including SOCI artefact maintenance, audit support, disaster recovery coordination, and CMDB accuracy.
About You
You'll bring demonstrated experience in IT operations or technology coordination, with the confidence to hold stakeholders accountable and work autonomously across complex, multisite environments.
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in IT operations, technology coordination, or operational management in complex, multi-site or multi-business-unit environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills — able to engage effectively with plant managers, operations leads, technology delivery teams, and vendors.
Solid understanding of IT operations practices including incident management, change management, and service request processes (ITIL or equivalent). - Practical understanding of site operational rhythms — maintenance windows, outage schedules, dispatch and asset availability constraints.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to influence without authority, holding peers and senior stakeholders to commitments.
Desirable:
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management qualification.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or resources sector, particularly within generation, gas, or related operational environments.
- Familiarity with asset management, CMDB, or configuration management practices.
- Tertiary qualifications in information technology, business administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience working within or alongside operational technology (OT) environments.
