About the role

Working as a Leader in Retail Operations, you’ll be at the heart of everything we do.  Our Retail Operations business works with customers and is responsible for delivering end-to-end outrageously good customer experiences, building teams into high performing and motivated individuals and cross-business supportive team members.  

 

Working in a team of Risk Partners, this role is critical in supporting our Retail teams to embed and ensure compliance with its risk, incident management and compliance frameworks.  This includes providing expertise and advice on risk management processes and practices including incident management, controls testing and monitoring and project/change risk. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising business leaders on the application of the operational risk and compliance management frameworks to evaluate risks in order to achieve business outcomes by improving systems, processes and controls.  Provides advice as an SME in on risks, controls, incident management and change risk management. 
  • Act as change agent to build and sustain a strong risk culture including a balanced approach by working in consultation with all lines of defence and ensuring best practices and lessons learned are shared by facilitating training, coaching and awareness   
  • Ensure that risk processes, tools and templates are streamlined and deliver the required user experience  
  • Working with stakeholders across the business to appropriately identify and triage problems, issues and incidents.  This involves assisting the business to manage incidents (including compliance breaches) through the life cycle ensuring investigations, root cause analysis and action plans are appropriate, well documented and closed in a timely manner and align to regulator and internal stakeholder expectations. 
  • Assisting to identify key risks and design of risk indicators to monitor and provide input into Divisional Risk Registers and Risk Setting Statements  
  • Ensure risks are being effectively managed and controls are embedded into systems and processes.  Support Retail teams to maintain the control register, ensuring active monitoring and management of key controls, control gaps and treatment plans 

 

About you

You will have a strong understanding of operational risk frameworks and processes, regulatory obligations, control frameworks and assurance programs and while not essential, an awareness of energy industry trends and threats is highly desirable. You will have excellent analytical skills, structured thinking and experience in change risk &/or project risk management, as well as: 

 

  • Expertise in incident management, including root cause analysis and developing action plans/ treatment strategies  
  • Expertise in control development, implementation, and testing  
  • Continuous improvement focus  
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills
