The Role

Customer Care is responsible for overseeing the operational side of Origin’s retail business across the entire customer life cycle, from the first time a potential customer contacts Origin, through to selecting us as their energy retailer, supply of an energy product or service, and issuing of bills and collecting payment. This includes servicing our existing customer - including helping them with potential energy solutions – and selling energy products and solutions to our large business markets and servicing their needs.

The Billing & Device Process Analyst reports to the Manager, Billing.

The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain detailed expertise in complex or sensitive billing processes and provide analytical and process support to enable the effective delivery of process in line with Origin strategies and KPIs.

A focus of the role is on proactively monitoring and improving the health of business processes with a strong focus on supporting and improving business metrics and project/initiative deliverables. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake proactive monitoring of Billing processes through inflow trends and backlogs to identify potential issues 
  • Undertake detailed root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop plans for and implement improvement opportunities
  • Assist in the development of business requirements for and review RFCs to ensure business requirements are identified and business benefits are clearly articulated for process and system enhancements in conjunction with the Initiative Lead and Process & Program Lead
  • Represent the position of the team on projects as required
  • Support the review of Industry changes and provide process feedback on impacts/opportunities
  • Support the detailed review of changes and risks associated through Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Releases as well as support business Projects as required
  • Support activities relevant to the delivery of changes including UAT/PVT and SOP development etc.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the business for billing processes
  • Establish networks with stakeholders from across the business to understand and influence process improvement and proposed regulatory changes 

Is This You?

  • You will have energy Industry experience
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experience working in Front Office and/or Back office operational process based environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of change management principles and their application
  • Engages with and works collaboratively with others, builds and maintains strong, cohesive relationship with team members, gives high priority to team goals, establishes and maintains strong team relationships. 
  • Stakeholder management - Ability to build strong internal relationships and capable of building effective relationships with a wide range of people
  • Ability to work independently, take personal responsibility for actions and decisions, and demonstrates commitment to completing work. 
  • Organisational and self-management skills including the ability to quickly adjust, and to accommodate emerging priorities
