About the Role:

 

We’re looking for a dynamic leader and doer to take on an expanding remit in our Centralised Energy Services (CES) business — one of Origin’s fastest-growing areas, supporting almost 500,000 customer accounts nationwide.

As Group Manager, CES Operations, you’ll lead operational performance, transformation, and the delivery of new electrified customer products. Reporting to the General Manager, CES & New Property, this is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of how Origin serves large-scale residential and commercial energy customers.

You’ll drive business efficiency, strengthen operational capability, and play a pivotal role in enabling Origin’s growth in electrification and sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead CES business operations, covering systems, suppliers, customer case management, accounts/payments, and process optimisation.
  • Deliver operational excellence and improve key performance metrics across billing, metering, data integrity, and customer experience.
  • Partner with internal teams to implement and operationalise new electrified energy products and digital solutions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and data quality across core systems and processes, reducing risk and driving consistency.
  • Lead business transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, customer outcomes, and revenue performance.
  • Build and empower a high-performing team culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

About You:

You’re an experienced operational leader with a track record of delivering performance improvement in complex, customer-focused businesses, preferably within the energy sector. You bring commercial acumen and the ability to lead change across people, systems, and processes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic vision with hands-on delivery.

 

You’ll also have:

 

  • Proven leadership experience in large-scale operational environments, ideally within energy, utilities, or related sectors.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets or P&L responsibility.
  • A track record of leading transformation, improving systems, and embedding process efficiency.
  • Deep understanding of compliance, data management, and operational risk frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial teams.
  • A collaborative and resilient approach — someone who gets energy from leading people through change.
