Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful

At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a strategic and commercially minded leader to take on a newly defined remit in Origin’s Centralised Energy Services (CES) business — one of our fastest-growing customer divisions, servicing almost 500,000 accounts across Australia.

As Group Manager, CES Commercial, you’ll partner with the General Manager, CES & New Property, to shape the future strategy and commercial direction of the business. This is a high-impact role where you’ll turn strategy into action — driving growth, commercial performance, and regulatory excellence across pricing, contracts, and compliance.

It’s a role for someone who can think big and execute brilliantly — a leader and a doer who can translate opportunity into measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CES leadership team to define and deliver the 2025–2030 business strategy and growth plans.
  • Lead pricing operations and governance, ensuring accurate and compliant delivery of annual pricing events and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee contract management across developers and Owners Corporations, ensuring quality, compliance, and commercial integrity.
  • Manage regulatory and compliance frameworks, including AER and embedded network obligations.
  • Provide commercial oversight and strategic input into new product and business development initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain reporting frameworks and models to track performance, capital investment, and business risks.

About You:

You’re an experienced commercial leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, governance, and delivery. You bring strong financial and contractual acumen, deep understanding of operational performance drivers, and the confidence to lead through change. You’re equally comfortable working at the executive table and deep in the detail when it matters.

You’ll also bring:

  • Significant experience in senior commercial or strategy roles within large, complex organisations.
  • Strong commercial, financial, and contractual management capability.
  • Experience leading regulatory, compliance, or pricing operations in energy, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Proven success driving transformation, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder, and negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a focus on accountability and performance.
