The Role

The role of Content Specialist is to plan, design, develop, execute and evaluate engaging communications content.

Reporting to the Communications Delivery Manager, this role is central to the delivery of Origin's employee (internal) communication to build engagement, ensuring our employees connect to Origin's strategy and priorities.

This is your chance to connect and engage with employees by acting as an internal journalist, responsible for designing, sourcing, developing and publishing a range of visual content across multiple channels. You will be the 'eyes and ears' of Origin with a focus on championing inspiring and engaging content that matters to our people,

The role works in a small, centralised Communication Delivery team comprised of content and digital communication specialists.

 You'll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Contributing to the FY2018 communication and employee experience planning cycle
  • Coordination and delivery of Origin's communication strategy, in collaboration with a small team of centralised specialists and Communication Managers
  • Creating and maintaining trusted relationships across the business, including with social media and corporate affairs, to develop communications plans, source and leverage content and stories for internal channels

Is This You?

You'll need to think differently and be able to challenge the status quo - being curious and also collaborative, to achieve results. You're digitally savvy, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for visual and digital content. You are used to developing social media sound bites, 'clickbait' and have experience or an interest in photography/'photojournalism', and /or producing/editing video.

You hold qualifications in digital communication, communication, journalism with experience in communication / digital media or a related field. Experience in video production/media/content agency or as a journalist- in social media, or employee-focused (digital) communications role is an advantage.

You're experienced in and have:

  • Basic (at minimum) photography, film and video/photo editing skills – familiar with creative editing tools (e.g., photoshop, final cut pro). Advanced skills offer a large advantage
  • Working knowledge of best practice application of visual and digital media (essential)
  • A deep understanding of innovative, integrated two-way communication approaches to engage audiences
  • Ability to take business requirements and translate them into creative concepts that both deliver a business outcome and engage employees
  • Experience creating engaging content for social media / collaboration tools (e.g. yammer, Facebook, Workplace, Twitter or similar)
  • Highly developed visual communication skills with the ability to develop quality audio, video, written, and pictorial content for a mix of communications channels
  • Proven ability in developing creative concepts and campaigns that engage people and change behaviour
  • Resilient, able to handle ambiguity and adapt to change 
  • Managing time pressures, competing priorities and balancing multiple agendas
  • A comprehensive understanding of how to proactively engage internal stakeholders to manage issues and reputation
  • Ability to deliver outcomes through insight and a collaborative working style
