About the Role
As High Value Collections Manager, you will lead a small, high‑performing team responsible for managing Origin’s most complex and high‑value debt portfolios across residential, SME and commercial customers. This senior leadership role operates at the intersection of commercial performance, customer outcomes and regulatory compliance. You’ll drive strong recovery outcomes while ensuring fair and compliant treatment of customers, particularly in sensitive and high‑risk scenarios. In addition to uplifting capability within your current team of two, you will help expand and support the existing case management team, strengthening how we manage complex customer situations end‑to‑end. You’ll optimise workflows, embed a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance, and play a key role in shaping and improving credit and recovery processes to support Origin’s broader transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop multiple teams of Case Managers and Senior Specialists to deliver strong performance and recovery outcomes
- Oversee complex and high-value debt portfolios, ensuring timely, commercially sound and compliant decisions
- Drive continuous improvement across credit and recovery processes including insolvency, litigation, disconnections and dispute resolution
- Optimise workflows, structures and resource allocation to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends and implement strategies to improve recovery outcomes and reduce bad debt
- Partner with stakeholders across Credit Risk, Legal, Billing and Operations to resolve escalations and improve end-to-end processes
About You
You are a commercially astute and people-focused leader who thrives in complex, high-stakes environments. You bring a strong balance of credit expertise, operational leadership and sound judgment, with the ability to lead through complexity and deliver results. You are confident making decisions on sensitive and high-value matters, while empowering your teams to do the same within clear frameworks.
You will bring:
- Proven experience leading leaders within credit, collections or recovery environments
- Strong experience managing complex, high-value portfolios with clear commercial outcomes
- Deep understanding of credit risk, debt recovery processes and regulatory obligations
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and uplift team capability
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance customer, commercial and risk considerationsExcellent stakeholder engagement and influencing capability across business functions
