ABOUT THE ROLE

The Commercial Analyst plays a vital role in execution and development of Origin’s commercial strategy for retail business, with key focus on building the concept of customer lifetime value and provide decision support to retail sales & marketing for BAU matters. This role will balance multiple key stakeholders and help achieve the optimal outcome for Origin's retail business whilst maintaining a positive customer experience.

Key responsibilities include

• Understand and provide an update on customer growth by commodity and segment.
•  Electricity & Gas weekly deep dive analysis by sales channels, state, and impact from loss journeys
• Prepare business case and advice for various sales activities, campaigns, and product pricing strategies.
• Scenario evaluation of channel partnership, product launch and other business proposals
• Support in enhancement of existing Customer Lifetime Value model which provides basis of every business decision
• Ensure updated underlying assumptions, like tariffs, cost of energy, churn, product switching, cost to acquire & cost to serve.

ABOUT YOU

The Commercial Analyst requires strong commercial acumen and experience in supporting Sales & Marketing or other customer facing operations in past. The ideal candidate must also be proficient user of Excel, Tableau & other data mining tools would be advantageous. The position will require someone with ability to navigate through data and provide meaningful & actionable insights to business.

• Highly numerate and analytical and strong financial modelling skills, that lead to actionable outcomes
• Ability to problem solve and develop recommendations.
• Ability to drive a process forward.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (report, briefs, investment proposals, external communications).
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure, often with competing priorities.
