About the role:
The Plant Technician – Electrical/Instrumentation role is a site-based, hands-on role that involves operating and maintaining Origin’s Shoalhaven Power Plant to ensure reliable and cost-effective energy production. As part of a small, multi-skilled team, you'll collaborate with Generation Functional Teams and take ownership of projects, focusing on safety, environmental responsibility, and technical excellence throughout the plant’s lifecycle.

Demonstrating safe, efficient operation and maintenance of Shoalhaven Hydro Power Scheme you will work towards maximising flexible, safe and reliable production of renewable energy. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power generation.
• Ensure the safety of all personnel and maintain compliance with safety protocols.
• Lead and supervise Project and Outage work from inception through to completion
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Perform Standby and call in duties
• Manage and improve plant documentation, reporting, and data quality.

What will you bring?

• Experience in a similar Electrical/Instrumentation role in Power Generation, Heavy Industry or Manufacturing
• Electrical or Instrumentation trade qualification (Essential), Post Trade Studies (Desirable)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills in industrial settings.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to safety protocols and permit systems.
• Certifications including Confined Space Entry, Forklift License, First Aid, and Working at Heights. (Desirable)
• Experience with Computeriesed Management of Work Systems (SAP preferred)
