It’s an exciting time to join Origin. Creating a great place to work means together we’re progressing our ambition to lead the energy transition through cleaner energy and customer solutions. We’re always looking for better ways to deliver for our customers – and for our people.

About the role:

Join Origin Energy at our Gladstone site as an LPG Articulated Tanker Driver, where you will play a pivotal role in the safe and efficient delivery of LPG to both domestic and commercial customers. This role offers you the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, ensuring the smooth operation of LPG distribution in compliance with all safety and procedural standards. As a key representative of Origin Energy, you'll be at the forefront of customer service, managing the entire delivery process, from loading and unloading tankers to interacting with customers and maintaining the LPG delivery vehicles.

You'll work within a 5-day-on, 2-day-off roster cycle, with up to 12 hour shifts typically starting from 5:00am. The role requires overnight stays in the truck with the appropriate allowances provided, and your workload will vary with the seasons—busy during peak winter months with opportunities for overtime, and quieter during summer months.

Key responsibilities:

  • Safely operate LPG tankers in accordance with statutory requirements and Origin Energy's HSE policies.
  • Perform line haul deliveries to terminals, major customers, and tanks throughout central QLD.
  • Manage the accurate and timely loading and unloading of LPG tankers.
  • Conduct regular vehicle checks and maintenance, ensuring all safety equipment is operational.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to manage delivery schedules and customer orders.
  • Report any customer site defects or safety hazards and handle customer complaints effectively.
  • Participate in safety activities, including emergency response drills and incident reporting.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical or operational driving role, ideally involving Dangerous Goods handling.
  • A National Heavy Vehicle Driver's Licence (minimum Class HC) and Dangerous Goods Licence.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and respond to customer concerns.
  • Competence in using technology for delivery and reporting tasks.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, especially in emergency situations.
  • Willingness to undertake out-of-hours work and overnight travel as required.

So, why join us?

  • Discounted Origin products benefits for employees, including Electrical, Gas and Internet offers!
  • Free and confidential counselling for employees and family members.
  • A great high energy team, that encourages interesting, rewarding, and engaging work!
