About the role:  
This role is key to managing the supply chain and logistics for critical process materials at Eraring Power Station, such as coal and fuel oil. Working closely with Wholesale and Trading, who oversee the coal and fuel oil contracts, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery of these materials to the site.

Your responsibilities will include onsite oversight of material logistics, ensuring the timely and efficient operation of material accounting systems. This includes managing everything from the transportation, quantity, and quality of materials to sampling, analysis, and reporting. You'll also supervise service contracts and oversee the specification preparation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, manage, and report on supply risks for coal and fuel oil, ensuring uninterrupted availability of these materials at Eraring Power Station.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including wholesale and trading teams, to efficiently manage forecasted coal supplies and ensure timely delivery of contracted volumes.
  • Lead coal stockpile management by monitoring trends, preparing forecasts, and organizing stack surveys, while managing a team of machine operators to ensure efficient resource use and production needs are met.
  • Develop, manage, and oversee contracts related to process materials, ensuring work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to budget, while supervising contractors and maintaining relevant certifications and calibrations.
  • Ensure the safe delivery and management of hazardous process materials in compliance with site health, safety, and environment regulations, while maintaining accurate inventory and quality records for internal and external stakeholders.

 

What will you bring?  

  • Strong leadership, team management, and change management skills.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, project management, and operational delivery.
  • Proficient in risk management, health and safety, relevant legislation, and contractor management.
  • Effective communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to report and manage stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Maintenance Management)  or equivalent experience in Heavy Industry with a focus on Materials Management (Coal Handling Plant and Stockpile)
