About the role 

This is a rare opportunity to step into a critical senior leadership role, shaping safe, reliable electricity generation while steering asset performance through a complex and evolving energy transition.

As Group Manager – Generation Asset Operations, you will be a key member of the Generation & Energy Transition Leadership Team, accountable for operational excellence, strong financial outcomes, and the leadership of a large, multi-disciplinary workforce across one of Origin’s generation assets.

Reporting to the General Manager, Generation & Energy Transition, you will lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Generation Assets, overseeing large-scale budgets, capital programs and workforce capability while delivering performance today and positioning the asset for the future.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior operational and strategic leadership across all asset operations, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant electricity generation
• Lead large-scale operational, maintenance, outage and contractor activities to optimise availability, reliability and asset performance
• Own and deliver performance across EBIT, operating budgets, capital expenditure and asset life outcomes
• Drive strong safety, risk, environmental and regulatory performance, setting clear expectations and role‑modelling standards
• Develop and inspire high-performing leadership teams, building capability, succession and a strong safety and performance culture

• Extensive senior leadership experience in heavy industry, complex operations or large-scale asset environments
• Deep expertise in asset management, power station operations, maintenance strategies and regulatory compliance
• Proven ability to lead large, diverse workforces and contractors through complexity and change
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing significant operating and capital budgets
• A values-led leadership style with the credibility to influence at executive, operational and industry level
