About the role:

If you're a seasoned instrumentation and controls professional looking for your next challenge, this is the opportunity to bring your expertise to a high-performing team at Origin. As a Senior Instrument and Controls Specialist, you’ll take ownership of complex technical work across multiple power generation sites, driving performance, reliability, and innovation.

This role is designed for someone who thrives on autonomy, leads with technical confidence, and is ready to influence outcomes at a strategic level.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced fault diagnostics, logic modifications, and instrumentation maintenance across GE MkVIe and Triconics systems
  • Provide expert input into outage planning, execution, and recovery to optimise plant performance
  • Mentor and guide technicians, sharing deep technical knowledge to build team capability
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to resolve complex issues and improve system reliability
  • Identify and implement strategic improvements to control systems and maintenance practices

 

What will you bring?

  • Extensive experience in instrumentation and controls within power generation or heavy industry
  • Electrical and Instrumentation Trade Certificate, with strong DCS expertise
  • Proven ability to lead technical work, influence stakeholders, and manage competing priorities
  • Deep understanding of plant systems, maintenance strategies, and safety protocols
  • Desirable: Advanced Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
