About the role:
 

As an Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security Engineer at Origin, you will play a key role in safeguarding mission-critical infrastructure by identifying and mitigating risks within the Process Control Network (PCN).

Focused on preventing ransomware, cyber threats, and unauthorised access, you’ll help ensure the security and resilience of Origin’s high-value IT/OT systems.

This role is central to maintaining the integrity of our energy operations and protecting the infrastructure that supports our customers.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support and execute OT security operations to protect Origin’s OT assets from cyber threats.
• Own and manage remediation of cyber risks within OT environment.
• Collaborate with OT Discipline Engineers to develop and implement risk remediation roadmaps.
• Partner with Origin’s Cyber Security Teams to secure and maintain the Process Control Network (PCN).
• Proactively contribute to cybersecurity initiatives and provide expertise on key security projects.
• Proactively identify, document, and implement processes to enhance platform health, aligning with industry best practices for continuous improvement. 
• Apply technical and strategic oversight to ensure strong, resilient security outcomes across OT systems.

Skills & Requirements

You are a proactive cybersecurity professional with strong incident management, risk assessment, and analytical skills. Furthermore, you will demonstrate:

• Experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and tools like Crowdstrike.
• Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end security incidents and collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Strong analytical skills to convert complex data into actionable insights and clear reporting.
• Expertise in cybersecurity risk management, assessments, and alignment with business strategies.
• Skilled in communicating complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate security processes.
• Suitable candidates will be required to undergo background checks in accordance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act.
