About the role 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer to deliver strategic and commercially focused legal counsel on planning, land and regulatory matters in connection with large-scale energy, infrastructure, and development projects. This opportunity is well-suited to a legal professional who excels in managing complex matters, values autonomy, and seeks to make a significant impact on business outcomes. 

In this in-house position, you will provide expert advice to directly influence major renewables, gas, and infrastructure initiatives. You will collaborate with executive stakeholders, contribute to key decision-making processes, and oversee legal risk management across critical assets. As a trusted adviser, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead legal advice on planning, environmental and regulatory approvals 

  • Manage land access, property and stakeholder arrangements for operations and major projects 

  • Advise on regulatory risk, compliance, investigations and incident response 

  • Partner witha range of stakeholders to enable confident, commercially sound decisions 

  • Oversee external counsel to ensure quality, value and pragmatic outcomes 

  • Support projects across renewables, gas and emerging energy technologies 

 

What will you bring?  

 

You will be equipped to provide confident guidance, constructive challenge, and strategic advice to a range of stakeholders facing complex, high-risk decisions. By remaining pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and composed, you will effectively manage legal and regulatory risk with desired business outcomes. In addition, you will establish trust rapidly among technical, operational, and leadership teams by delivering clear and practical counsel. You will also demonstrate;  

  • 8+ years’ PQE as an Australian‑qualified lawyer  

  • Experienced in energy, infrastructure, resources or major developments 

  • Strong in planning, environment and regulatory law 

  • Commercially minded, confident and comfortable operating autonomously 

  • A clear communicator who can influence at senior levels
