About the role

Origin’s Integrated Gas business plays a central role in delivering Australia’s energy needs and our ambition to decarbonise. As the Senior Commercial Analyst – Planning, you’ll be at the heart of strategic financial decision-making. Partnering with Investor Relations, APLNG, and internal business leaders to lead budget cycles, unlock commercial insights, and drive performance for one of the country’s most significant energy portfolios.  Your responsibilities will include:

• Own and lead the quarterly forecast and budget process across the Integrated Gas division.
• Deliver 24-month consolidated planning for Upstream Operator
• Partner with stakeholders across Origin, APLNG and the corporate office to align on financial targets and strategic drivers.
• Prepare and present key reports and analysis to senior leadership and shareholders.
• Champion continuous improvement in forecasting and planning tools and processes (think: IBM Planning Analytics, SAP S/4HANA).
• Provide technical guidance to analysts and finance colleagues, mentoring others as you go.

What will you bring?

To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex data into clear insights. You’re confident working with senior stakeholders, proactive in improving processes, take ownership of your work, and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. CA or CPA qualification with a background in Commerce, Accounting, or Economics. You will also have an agile mindset with the ability to adapt and contribute in a fast-moving business You will also be able to demonstrate:

• Proven experience in FP&A, budgeting, and scenario modelling within large, complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of discounted cash flow analysis, planning cycles, and financial controls.
• Commercially savvy and the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence direction.
• Experience working with or within Joint Venture structures (highly desirable).
