About the Role

 

Join Origin’s Integrated Gas team as a Senior Advisor - Environment, where you’ll play a hands-on role in msanaging environmental risk, supporting compliance and improving environmental performance across field-based operations. Working a 15/13 FIFO roster, you’ll partner with operational teams, construction teams, contractors and site personnel to provide practical environmental advice, embed effective controls and help maintain Origin’s licence to operate.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic operational environment, navigating complex environmental challenges and delivering practical, site-based solutions that make a real impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide practical environmental advice on compliance obligations, regulatory requirements, site-based risks and effective controls.
  • Support environmental risk assessments, inspections, audits, assurance activities, incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop and improve environmental management plans, risk registers, compliance registers and management system processes.
  • Monitor environmental performance, regulatory obligations and reporting requirements to support ongoing compliance.
  • Partner with operational teams, contractors and stakeholders to embed environmental controls and sustainable work practices.
  • Deliver environmental coaching, training and support for regulatory monitoring, statutory reporting and project/budget coordination.

 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in environmental management, compliance and risk management, ideally within operational, field-based or high-risk industries.
  • Strong field-based experience working with operational teams, contractors and site personnel to implement environmental controls.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks, environmental management systems and CSG-related aspects such as water, rehabilitation, biodiversity, waste, compliance, auditing and emissions monitoring.
  • Experience supporting environmental monitoring, reporting, inspections, audits, investigations and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and provide practical advice.
  • Energy, resources or CSG experience will be highly regarded, along with ISO 14001, Lead Auditor or ICAM training.
