The Role

As a Production Engineer, you will provide technical support to maintain compliance and maximise the value of one of our operating fields, through well integrity management, production optimisation, bottomhole pressure management, well intervention planning and artificial lift system design. 

More about the role

• Aligning to the Well Integrity Management Plan and ensure all well integrity issues are escalated and addressed.
• Supporting the field and control room operations with day-to-day well performance risks and opportunities management.  
• Collaborating with the following teams: Field and brownfield Operations, Drilling, Completions & workovers, Reservoir Engineering, Process Engineering, Brisbane Integrated Operations Centre, Health and Safety, to meet the business demand of maximising base production.
• Identifying and implementing workover opportunities to improve Mean Time to Return (MTTR) and Mean Time to Failure (MTTF).
• Analysing, improving and optimising well design and support a lessons learnt culture.
• Production surveillance and well reviews with the Well Performance Team and field operations.
• Assess, rank, justify and support implementation of production uplift and debottlenecking opportunities.

This is an excellent development opportunity where you will gain broad subsurface production exposure whilst being accountable for surveying and actioning well control related tasks working in a supportive technical team whilst collaborating across IG BU’s.

About you

• Bachelor in Engineering (Petroleum or similar)
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the technical and commercial aspects in the upstream oil & gas sectors
• Expertise in artificial lift system design, operation and optimisation
• Able to travel to site at regularly consistent frequency
• Experience with Progressive Cavity Pumps and Rod pumps
• An excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with key members of a wide range of stakeholders
• Detail focus, with ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met
• Sound understanding of Health Safety and Environmental practices
• Ability to make and implement technical decisions
• Strong analytical and interpretative skills
