About the role

We are pleased to announce a new opening within our Risk & Assurance team for a Principal Risk Business Partner. In this Origin-wide role, you will work with our Business Units, including Retail and Zero, offering expert risk advice, governance, and insights. Reporting to the Head of Risk Business Partnership, you will play a crucial role in embedding the Risk Management Framework, influencing decision-making processes, and ensuring effective risk management practices. You will be required to collaborate with stakeholders across the business to address gaps, identify risks, and enhance resilience.  

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Partner with Business Units / Functions to embed a risk mindset and support effective decision-making. 

  • As a trusted advisor, you will contribute to shaping the risk culture and driving continuous improvement. 

  • Conduct risk assessments, provide governance support, and enable insights to stakeholders. 

  • Identify, assess, and help manage risks in a dynamic and evolving environment. 

  • Coach and train teams on risk management principles and frameworks. 

  • Influence risk culture by sharing best practices and fostering collaboration. 

  • Adapt and respond to changes in business priorities with agility and flexibility. 

 

What will you bring?  

This role needs a strategic thinker with strong stakeholder management skills, the ability to influence change, and a collaborative mindset. You must have excellent analytical skills to identify and assess risks (ISO 31000 framework preferred) and commercial acumen to translate complex risk concepts into actionable insights. Requisites for the role include: 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior risk advisory role. 

  • Background in energy customer or growth focused environments is highly valued. 

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
