About the Role
The Principal – Security & SOCI is responsible for leading Origin’s Security and Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with business objectives. This role provides expert guidance on security risk management, oversees the Enterprise SOCI program and drives continuous improvement in security practices across business units. Working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you will strengthen security culture, enhance resilience and support compliance with legislative requirements. Reporting to the Head of Emergency, Business Continuity and SOCI, this is a senior advisory role that influences leaders and supports the integration of security and SOCI obligations into day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Security and SOCI management programs in line with regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert advice and coaching to senior leaders on security risk management, SOCI obligations and mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the Enterprise SOCI program, including Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Programs and associated initiatives.
- Conduct security risk assessments and support complex incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Lead internal and external audits (including Level 2 assurance and Level 3 audits), guiding leaders through findings and remediation activities.
- Partner across business units to strengthen security culture, interpret performance metrics and embed continuous improvement.
About You
You are a strategic security professional with deep experience in security risk management and regulatory compliance. You are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, leading complex investigations and driving enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.
You will bring:
- 10+ years’ experience managing security and SOCI programs, including strategic planning and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex risk assessments, audits and incident investigations across multiple sites or business units.
- Strong knowledge of SOCI legislation and critical infrastructure obligations.
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership and embed security into business decision-making.
- Experience improving security culture and mentoring other HSSE professionals.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Security, Emergency or Business Continuity Management (mandatory).
