About the role 

Join Origin’s high-performing Corporate Affairs team, and support the company’s ambition to lead the energy transition through cleaner energy and customer solutions and deliver good outcomes our customers, communities, planet and people. As Manager – Employee Communication for our natural gas business (Integrated Gas), based in Origin’s Brisbane office, you will lead the design and delivery of employee communication strategies and programs to support Origin’s natural gas portfolio. You will work closely with the leadership of the gas business (including Australia Pacific LNG) to create clear and engaging content, utilising a range of communication channels and events. You will bring a best practice communication skillset to help maximise engagement, reach and impact. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic communication advice to senior leaders of Origin’s natural gas business, and craft a range of content for leaders and to support employee events. 

  • Devise communication plans that align with Origin’s strategy, priorities, and values.  

  • Build understanding among our people of Origin’s gas business and assets, and the important role of natural gas in the energy transition. 

  • Create clear, engaging, and informative content for various communication channels. 

  • Maximise engagement, reach and impact of communication, demonstrated through effective measurement tools. 

  • Utilise data and insights to continually optimise strategy, tactics and channels to help reach both office-based and field teams, effectively.  

 

What will you bring?  

You will have a passion for strategic communication, and a track record of creating and implementing communication activities that support the goals and priorities of a large, complex organisation. You will also be able to demonstrate: 

  • Outstanding written, verbal and audio-visual communication skills and demonstrated ability to create inspiring, engaging and motivating content. 

  • A degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or other relevant qualification. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to form strong relationships, and influence, at all levels of an organisation. 

  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with ability to manage competing priorities. 

  • A focus on continuous improvement, able to identify and implement new and better ways of doing things. 

  • Proven leader and team player, who can adapt swiftly in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Skilled in graphic design and video editing (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Suite) and managing digital channels (e.g., Workplace or Yammer). 

  • Experience in the energy sector and utilities is a plus.
