About the role 

At Origin, risk governance is how we enable confident decision‑making. This role leads the enterprise approach to risk and control governance, setting clear standards, lifting control maturity, and partnering closely with business leaders to embed strong, consistent practices across the organisation Your responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Lead Origin’s control management approach, including standards, definitions and methodologies 

  • Drive consistent identification, classification and mapping of controls across Business Units 

  • Partner with risk leads and operational leaders to strengthen ownership and accountability 

  • Lead control uplift initiatives to improve design quality, consistency and effectiveness 

  • Deliver executive‑ready insights and reporting for governance forums 

  • Maintain alignment between the Risk Framework, control governance and assurance processes. 

 

What will you bring?  

You’ll be a trusted influencer who can engage senior leaders and bring clarity to complex risk and control concepts. This role requires strong judgement, the ability to lead change without authority, and confidence partnering across diverse teams. You’ll coach, guide and challenge stakeholders to lift control maturity while balancing strategic intent with practical execution. You will also demonstrate: 

  • Extensive experience supporting enterprise risk and control frameworks in complex organisations 

  • Strong expertise in control design, classification, documentation and effectiveness assessments 

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead change without authority 

  • Experience embedding governance frameworks aligned to ISO 31000 

  • Ability to translate complexity into clear, practical guidance and insights 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, coaching and capability‑building skills
