Role Description

 

The Integrated Development Lead is accountable to lead a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for the overall development plan for the designated APLNG operated assets, including both subsurface and surface aspects of development packages. The team is responsible for ensuring that the development schedule is optimised to ensure the lowest cost of supply packages are prioritised within current facility constraints and progressing selected development packages through the stage gate process. We currently have openings for this position in both Asset East & West. 

 

This position requires a strategic thinker who can lead a high-performing team, challenge assumptions, and collaborate across teams to optimise the development schedule and ensure the lowest cost of supply packages are prioritised within current facility constraints and to progress selected development packages through the stage gate process.

 

These activities support current operations for the APLNG's Upstream Assets including maximising production and optimising cost of supply, while ensuring safety and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Overall accountability for all aspects of development activities for assigned operated APLNG upstream assets
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to a multi-discipline team of Reservoir Engineers, Petroleum Engineers, Geologists and Surface Engineers ensuring all deliverables are met
  • Engage, develop, and coach team members to create a high performing team environment. Lead a multi-discipline team to complete economic assessments of alternate development strategies such as development package sequencing, infrastructure capacity upgrades and surface equipment and gathering network designs to optimise future development plans
  • Accountable for production forecasts for future development packages including high and low side scenarios
  • Accountable for surface equipment selection (including artificial lift selection, wells site processing equipment and gathering network design) and identifying infrastructure projects, such as water gathering stations, compression, and offtake, needed to ensure assets can meet supply targets
  • Owner of the inputs for assigned assets to the Upstream Development Plan and collaborates with the Integrated Planning team to optimise the portfolio
  • Work with the Reservoir Characterisation team to identify and prioritise reservoir studies to inform future development plans and recommend pilot projects needed to derisk implementation of alternative approaches
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with the Production Engineering, Integrated Planning and Drilling & Completions teams
  • Development of data acquisition plans to inform reservoir modelling, production forecasting and evaluation of pilot projects
  • Accountable for execution of Development Packages through the Deliver Wells core process to ensure the development plan is optimised
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, effectively communicating complex technical information including preparation and delivery of TCM (Technical Committee Meeting) presentation material to APLNG shareholders
  • Lead by example and role model Origin values, leadership habits and health, safety and environment behaviours, actively implementing change initiatives to support the deliver asset and IG strategy and outcomes, and ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and innovation


About you

 

We are seeking a dynamic leader with extensive experience in coaching and developing teams while ensuring accountability for deliverables. Ideal candidates will possess strong strategic thinking skills, adept at translating organisational goals into actionable plans and balancing tactical execution with long-term planning. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities are essential, along with a sound understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental practices. The ability to manage confidential data with discretion and make informed technical decisions is crucial for this role.

 

The right individual will also excel in building and fostering relationships with stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster trust and credibility throughout the organisation. You will be proficient in working collaboratively within a team environment, valuing diverse perspectives and respecting others’ viewpoints. Possess strong time management and work prioritization skills, combined with flexibility and personal accountability, are key attributes for success in this position.

 

Essential Experience:

 

  • 15 years of Oil and Gas industry experience, working as a Reservoir/Petroleum Engineer, Geologist or Surface Engineer
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Reservoir and/or Petroleum Engineering disciplines
  • Experience preparing, evaluating, and executing upstream well and infrastructure projects
  • Experience in using economic analysis to evaluate development and optimisation projects
  • Experience supervising, guiding, or mentoring a multi-discipline technical team
  • Thorough understanding of coal seam reservoirs
