About the role:

As a Well Engineering Graduate at Origin, you'll build your career at one of Australia's largest domestic gas producers. From day one, you'll be trusted with real technical work on producing wells, working alongside experienced well engineers across our gas operations.

Beginning in February 2027, you'll embark on a three-year rotational program within Well Engineering, rotating across the sub-disciplines: drilling, fracture stimulation, completions, workovers, and well integrity. You'll also complete a nine-month field rotation on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off roster, giving you hands-on wellsite exposure alongside our field teams. As Origin continues to invest in our gas business, you'll contribute to the operational work that keeps wells producing safely and reliably.

Your work could include supporting well design and operational programs, contributing to cost estimates and risk assessments, working on drilling and completions execution, participating in engineering change management, and troubleshooting well-related operational issues. At the end of the program, you'll transition into a permanent role in our well engineering function.

What you will bring

We're looking for motivated and technically strong graduates with degrees in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering. Graduates from other engineering disciplines with a strong interest in wells and operations are also welcome to apply.

Ideal candidates will be proactive problem-solvers, confident communicators, and comfortable making decisions in operational environments.

You'll be eager to develop hands-on well engineering expertise across drilling, completions, and well integrity, and keen to spend time on wellsites alongside office-based technical work.

Graduate roles are based in Brisbane, with the field rotation taking you on-site at our gas operations as part of the program.

You must hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency (PR) to be eligible for this opportunity and be available to start full-time work in February 2027.
