About the Role

The Graduate – Health & Safety (HSSE) supports the delivery of safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible outcomes across Origin. You will gain structured, hands-on experience in HSSE systems, risk management, and continuous improvement activities, building a foundation for a professional HSSE career within Origin.This role provides exposure to multiple aspects of the HSSE Management System, with a clear development pathway toward HSSE Coordinator or Advisor roles. Onsite presence at worksites and collaboration with operational teams is essential to gain practical experience in safety, compliance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Origin’s HSSE strategy, policies, and programs across the assigned business area
• Assist with development, review, and maintenance of HSSE documentation, risk registers, and management plans
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and assurance activities alongside experienced HSSE practitioners
• Support incident reporting, investigations, and learning activities
• Assist with contractor HSSE activities, including pre-mobilisation documentation, assurance tracking, and post-activity review
• Support HSSE training and competency programs, including preparation of materials and coordination of sessionsContribute to emergency preparedness activities, including planning, drills, and post-event reviewsAssist in identifying opportunities to improve HSSE processes, documentation, and ways of working
  

About You

You are an enthusiastic graduate or early-career HSSE professional looking to build practical skills and experience in a supportive, operational environment. You are eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute to safe and sustainable operations.

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline , with a willingness to gain practical experience to progress in a graduate-level career path
• Entry-level experience through university studies, internships, or graduate placements
• Exposure to HSSE concepts such as risk assessment, incident reporting, or inspections is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn
• Ability to work onsite, travel to various sites, and support operational stakeholders
• Alignment with Origin’s values
