About the role:

As an Engineering Graduate at Origin, you'll build your career at one of Australia's largest energy companies, working on the operating assets that deliver gas, power, and new energy products to Australian households and industry. From day one, you'll be trusted with real engineering work on active assets, working alongside experienced engineers who've built their careers keeping critical infrastructure running.

Beginning in February 2027, you'll embark on a three-year rotational program across our engineering teams, with exposure to the work that keeps our gas operations, power generation, and new energy assets producing safely and reliably. As Origin continues to invest in growing our gas, renewables, and customer energy businesses, you'll see how engineering decisions shape performance across a diversified energy company.

Your work could include contributing to day-to-day asset performance, supporting maintenance and reliability activities, troubleshooting operational issues, and working on the engineering decisions that keep our assets running. You'll spend time in our offices and at our operating sites, getting the mix of technical analysis and genuine field exposure that's hard to find elsewhere.

What you will bring

We're looking for practical and technically strong graduates with degrees in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with dual degrees in Mechatronics are also welcome.

Ideal candidates will be curious problem-solvers, strong communicators, and interested in the engineering that goes into operating real assets. You'll enjoy building broad technical capability across operations, maintenance, and asset performance rather than focusing on one narrow specialisation.

You'll be comfortable with both office-based analytical work and time on site, and keen to learn from experienced engineers on the ground.

Graduate roles are primarily based in Brisbane, with some Electrical Engineering roles potentially based in Melbourne. Regular time at our operating sites is part of the role.

You must hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency (PR) to be eligible for this opportunity and be available to start full-time work in February 2027.
