About the role:

We're excited to announce an opportunity for a Corporate Lawyer to join our team and provide invaluable legal guidance and support to Origin Energy Group companies. This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact, focusing on advising on contracting strategies, reviewing contracts, and implementing regulatory changes, particularly in the procurement space. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to support contracting efforts for renewable energy and hydrogen projects, contributing to Origin's leadership in the transition to a low-carbon world.

Why this role matters:

As part of our legal team, you'll work closely with senior leadership to deliver value to Origin Energy Group companies, aiding them in achieving company objectives. Your role will involve collaborating with senior corporate lawyers and other team members to provide top-notch legal services. Key responsibilities include advising various Origin business units on procurement matters, renewable energy, and hydrogen projects.

Your contributions will encompass:

• Crafting contracting strategies
• Reviewing and approving contracts
• Identifying and implementing business efficiencies
• Advising and managing contracting claims and disputes
• Implementing regulatory changes
• Sharing knowledge across the organization
• Collaborating with legal process outsourcing (LPO) and external providers
• Delivering high-quality, client-focused services to Origin

What will you bring?

With 5+ years PQE as an Australian qualified and admitted lawyer, you will have extensive experience in drafting and negotiating various contractual documents. You will also have or the ability to obtain a current practicing certificate. Further requirements are.

• Strong stakeholder relationship management skills
• Analytical and problem-solving prowess, with a penchant for complexity
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities
• Relevant experience in procurement, renewable energy, hydrogen, and infrastructure projects
• Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.

Desirable qualifications include experience in an in-house role, construction or project development, and procurement processes for renewable energy, hydrogen, or infrastructure projects.
