Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful

At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.

About the role:

The Operated Joint Venture team sits within Origin’s Integrated Gas division and is responsible for managing the joint venture operating and processing agreements for Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG). The team ensures effective governance, compliance and performance reporting across APLNG’s operated assets, working closely with internal functions and external JV partners to maximise value and meet contractual obligations.

As the Commercial Analyst, you’ll coordinate the approvals, reporting and information flow that underpins Origin’s joint venture commitments. You’ll manage all JV reporting cycles — monthly, quarterly and annual — ensuring data accuracy and timeliness in line with regulatory and contractual deadlines. This includes preparing expenditure and cash call statements, reviewing authority for expenditure (AFE) documentation, and liaising with both internal teams and external JV partners.

Roles & Responsibilities

This role requires someone who can thrive in structured reporting environments, enjoys problem solving with data and can balance accuracy with relationship management across complex stakeholder groups.

Day to  day you will

  • Coordinate JV approvals as well as financial and operational reporting obligations under JV and royalty agreements

  • Work with Finance, Asset Operations and other stakeholders to source and validate data for reports and approvals

  • Monitor the shared JV mailbox and manage information requests between partners and internal teams

  • Support regular JV meetings through preparation of performance summaries and documentation

  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and digital optimisation — including Power BI reporting and process automation

  • Support broader Commercial team as required

Skills & Requirements

You are analytical, curious, detail-focused and enjoy turning complex data and reporting requirements into clear, actionable insights. You are also comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and take pride in meeting deadlines with accuracy and accountability. You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, finance or a related field — or equivalent proven experience in a commercial, reporting or financial operations role

  • Strong financial and analytical capability with a high attention to detail

  • Demonstrated capability to coordinate stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely reporting or compliance outcomes

  • Sound understanding of business accounting practices or financial processes

  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement and use of digital tools to enhance reporting (advanced excel, Power BI experience highly regarded)
