About the role 

 

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join our IG Gas Storage & Projects team. The role supports Identification, commercial and technical evaluation of opportunities.  

 

More about the role   

 

  • Support the development of an Origin Integrated Gas growth strategy. 

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop relevant new business opportunities in upstream, midstream, and energy transition projects. 

  • Coordinate with technical, financial, and legal teams to assess project feasibility and risks. 

  • Prepare and present investment proposals, bids, and commercial submissions to senior management supported with in-depth understanding of key technical risks and opportunities.  

  • Lead and coordinate cross functional technical teams and resources to assess project feasibility and risks. 

  • This position will require flexibility in hours worked and may involve regional travel as well as interstate travel from time to time. 

  • Comply with Origin HS & E, codes of practice, standards, policies and operating procedures. 

 

What will you bring?  

 

You will role model Origin’s values, be self-driven, with ability to be proactive and take initiative. A team player with ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of people across levels, building positive, productive working relationships.  

 

  • 15+ years in the Oil & Gas industries, experience with full developments (exploration through to end of life).  

  • Tertiary qualified (e.g. relevant engineering / industry qualified) and appropriate industry experience. 

  • Experience with developing, supporting and managing strategic relationships. 

  • In-depth knowledge of oil & gas supply chain with a focus on technical delivery in upstream projects and significant subsurface and or production knowledge.  

  • Project or Program Management experience and knowledge of the Deliver Projects Process.  

  • Experience in creating, leading and coaching diverse, inclusive and high performing cross functional teams to deliver large technical projects.   

  • Skilled at conveying technical assessments and proposals to a wide range of stakeholders including internal and external parties. 

  • Commercial acumen with experience in a variety of joint venture / commercial environments. 

 

Desirable requirements 

 

  • Post graduate qualifications (e.g. Engineering, management, commerce, marketing or strategy) 

  • Experience in multiple conventional and unconventional oil and gas asset types at various points of asset life. 

  • In depth knowledge of the Australian gas market, associated production and network. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Excellent work prioritisation skills. 

  • Negotiation and conflict management skills.  

  • Tolerance of difference and other points of view with an ability to focus on priorities and move forward.
