This is a unique 12 month limited term opportunity for an Asset Integrity Engineer to join Origin's LPG Operational Integrity team based in Brisbane or Melbourne. You’ll be broadly responsible for identifying developing and implementing asset reliability, integrity and capital projects for LPG, and providing engineering, project and technical support to the LPG team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to play a key part in ensuring that our LPG assets are installed and maintained in accordance with agreed standards and in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, while ensuring that minimum established standards for our operating assets are implemented in the asset management system.   Reporting to the Projects Lead Operational Integrity, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing advice and guidance regarding the engineering & technical aspects of Operations activities
  • Planning and executing improvement projects to new and existing assets, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose and are completed on time and within budget
  • Assisting maintenance personnel in the development and implementation of practical standards and procedures relating to the work performed
  • Supporting maintenance planners to achieve effective asset maintenance and asset integrity
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key service providers associated with the design, engineering, construction and maintenance of new or existing facilities
  • Working with the Process Safety Team for alignment of projects and technical support
  • Ensuring that engineering designs follow a strict process for safety in design

Is This You?

To succeed in this role you will be self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise and cope with changing priorities and have excellent project management experience. You must hold Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical engineering with RPEQ.  You can show or be able to demonstrate:

  • Development and implementation of Asset Integrity Strategies, including writing of technical procedures
  • Maintenance and Project Engineering experience in petroleum and gas industries
  • Extensive experience working in an engineering environment in the power, gas or petroleum industry.
  • The ability to manage projects successfully to meet objectives and can effectively plan and manage a number of projects running simultaneously
  •  Experience in cost estimating, project budgeting and schedule control
  • Experience in preparing business development proposals
  • Completed feasibility studies of complex plants
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Methodical, with an analytical approach to problem solving and attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, contractors and outside service providers
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations and Industry Standards will be viewed favourably
  • Exposure to hazard analysis, process safety, risk assessment training and MHF requirements will also be considered advantageous.
  • Previous leadership experience will be held in high regard.
