About the Role
We are seeking an Asset Engineer to join our LPG Operations & Field Services team, providing engineering and technical support across our national fleet and associated LPG infrastructure.
This role is responsible for supporting build, refurbishment, maintenance, and ongoing performance of LPG vehicles and plant equipment. You will work closely with internal operational teams, contractors, and external vendors to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective asset performance.
The role plays a key part in ensuring fleet reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across our LPG operations.
Key Responsibilities

Track and report on fleet build programs, project variations, and associated costs

Provide lifecycle engineering support including reliability, maintenance, inspection, and optimisation activities

Monitor and assess vendor and contractor performance (quality, cost, uptime, and compliance)

Coordinate capital works including major refurbishments and statutory inspections

Support incident, accident, and damage reporting, including participation in investigations

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and internal policies (including Dangerous Goods and NHVL requirements)

Develop and review technical documentation including scopes of work, drawings, calculations, and project reports

Provide technical liaison with equipment vendors and contractors

Undertake on-site troubleshooting, commissioning, and engineering support activities

Contribute to asset improvement initiatives and engineering problem-solving activities
About You
You are a practical and technically capable engineer who thrives in operational environments and enjoys solving complex engineering problems.
Essential Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

3+ years’ industry experience

Experience in heavy vehicle design, build, operation & maintenance

Understanding of operations and maintenance environments

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, including Dangerous Goods regulations

Strong technical documentation skills (e.g., scopes of work, reports, specifications)

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable Experience

Experience with heavy vehicles, LPG systems, or dangerous goods operations

Exposure to pressure vessels, piping systems, or pipeline infrastructure

Project management or coordination experience

Contractor and vendor management experience

Strong prioritisation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
