About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career accounting or finance professional looking to take the next step into corporate treasury.
Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manager, you’ll support the daily operation of Origin’s treasury activities, helping ensure the Group remains appropriately funded while gaining exposure to a diverse debt portfolio, transactional banking, foreign exchange, interest rates and capital markets.
You may currently be working in a chartered accounting or professional services firm, or in an accounting, financial reporting, planning or commercial finance role. You don’t need extensive treasury experience; we’re looking for strong financial foundations, analytical capability and a genuine interest in treasury and financial markets.
Responsibilities include
- Preparing Origin’s daily funding position and supporting cash, foreign exchange and term-deposit transactions.
- Producing insightful monthly, budget, statutory and Board reporting across debt, interest and treasury derivatives.
- Supporting the management of Origin’s debt portfolio, including covenant reporting, facility documentation and compliance obligations.
- Maintaining transactional banking relationships, bank accounts, guarantees and AEMO prudential requirements.
- Researching funding and hedging opportunities while identifying improvements across treasury systems, processes and reporting.
What will you bring?
- A degree in accounting, finance, commerce or a related discipline.
- Experience gained within chartered accounting, audit, financial reporting, FP&A, commercial finance or a similar environment.
- A sound understanding of accounting standards, financial statements and statutory reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and written communication skills, with confidence working with data and financial information.
- A genuine interest in developing your career across treasury, funding, debt markets, foreign exchange and interest rates.
Exposure to corporate treasury, banking, financial institutions, listed organisations, energy markets, REVAL, SAP or IBM Planning Analytics would be advantageous but is not essential.
