About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join on a six month contract. You will be part of a high-performing team delivering and maintaining critical energy trading and risk-management systems. As AI reshapes how energy markets operate, this team is at the forefront—embedding intelligent capabilities into the platforms that support Australia’s energy future.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering role. You’ll work alongside developers, testers, business analysts and a Delivery Manager across multiple squads, contributing your technical expertise to build reliable, scalable and intuitive solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop sophisticated front-end solutions using Angular, creating intuitive interfaces for complex energy-trading workflows.

• Apply strong engineering practices across solution design, development, testing, code quality and documentation.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
• Integrate AI-powered features, including LLM-driven insights, intelligent automation and predictive visualisations, into front-end experiences.
• Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, development processes and technical documentation.

About You

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Software Engineer with strong, production-level Angular expertise.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET, with a sound understanding of full-stack development and API integration.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, including serverless technologies and modern deployment patterns.
• Strong SQL capability and experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Practical experience with LLM integration, AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, or intelligent front-end features would be highly regarded.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams and engage confidently with business stakeholders.
