About the role
Join one of Australia’s leading energy companies in a high-impact legal role. We’re seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer to provide expert advice and leadership on complex M&A transactions and corporate law matters during a 12-month parental leave cover period.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with senior stakeholders, provide strategic legal guidance, and play a key role in protecting and enhancing Origin’s investments.
Your responsibilities:
- Act as the internal lead lawyer on significant M&A transactions and joint venture arrangements.
- Advise on general corporate law and contracts, treasury and finance-related matters.
- Manage external legal advisers effectively, ensuring high-quality and cost-efficient outcomes.
- Identify and manage complex legal issues proactively to help Origin meet its business objectives.
- Provide clear, practical advice aligned with the Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules.
What will you bring?
We’re looking for a strategic thinker and trusted advisor who brings strong judgment, resilience, and a collaborative style. You will also demonstrate.
- 8+ years’ post-admission experience, including extensive experience in corporate M&A and an Australian qualified lawyer.
- Thrives in complex, dynamic environments and can deliver results under pressure.
- Has exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Is skilled at negotiating, drafting in plain English, and delivering practical solutions.
- Brings a collaborative mindset and the confidence to work across all levels of the organisation.
- Energy sector experience and demonstrated senior leadership are highly desirable.
