This is a unique opportunity to join the Financial Risk team based in Sydney. The team builds and operates risk & analytics models covering various energy markets, primarily Oil & LNG.


Working closely with the Quantitative Development Manager you’ll be responsible for:

  • Data infrastructure covering market prices and trading positions.
  • Data modelling, visualization & analytics, driving portfolio insight.
  • Maintaining day-to-day running of processes in a timely & accurate manner



You’ll need to be experienced in checking and reconciling data with an eye for detail.  A proactive, analytical approach will be necessary in this role to then identify issues or areas for improvements in existing data/model methodologies. You must also hold qualifications in a relevant numerate discipline such as computer science, information technology, engineering, or statistics.


In addition, you’ll possess:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in an analytical function ideally with financial markets exposure
  • Programming skills in one or more of Python, SQL or Tableau
  • Data manipulation skills in one or more of SQL, Pandas, Tableau
  • Experience in checking/reconciling data
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in cloud computing, Bloomberg, and energy markets is beneficial although not essential.
  • Experience in quantitative finance or financial markets environment would be advantageous
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management, team members and other internal/external colleagues is also beneficial
