About the Role

 

Are you ready to shape the path towards a renewable energy future? As the Head of Renewable Prospecting, you’ll drive the growth of our renewable portfolio by developing innovative site acquisition strategies and managing key relationships. From securing essential funding to building a greenfield pipeline of wind and solar assets, this role is critical in delivering clean, reliable energy for our customers.

 

This role forms a critical part of the Prospecting team. This role will ensure that Origin's is developing a portfolio of renewable energy development options that can meet Its strategic needs. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Developing internal capabilities for creating a pipeline of greenfield renewable energy assets.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Development, Construction, Trading, Strategy, and Valuations to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Leading and managing renewable or land development partnerships, overseeing budgets and asset prioritization within the portfolio.
  • Overseeing the commercial management of approved initiatives from concept to execution and handover.
  • Driving commercial decisions and outcomes within Origin's internal approval framework for the asset portfolio.

 

What will you bring?

 

  • Proven wind development management experience, leading large-scale transactions, negotiations, and managing complex agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic, value-driven mindset.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across all levels, including Senior Executives and Board Members.
  • Strong leadership and team management, with a focus on mentoring and driving results.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian energy market.
