At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.
About the role
Are you looking to grow your career in HR, while contributing to positive change for communities and our people? This is an exciting opportunity to join Origin Energy’s People & Culture team, supporting thousands of employees across a diverse, multi-layered organisation.
We warmly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as we recognise and value the unique knowledge, perspectives, and cultural strengths you bring.
In this role, you’ll learn, grow, and make a real impact. You’ll work alongside experienced Business Partners, gaining exposure to a wide variety of HR activities across an exciting and evolving sector that is helping shape Australia’s energy future.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support Business Partners with people activities — from organisational changes to employment lifecycle actions.
- Help deliver key P&C calendar activities such as performance and remuneration cycles.
- Provide frontline support to people leaders on low-risk employee matters.
- Assist in creating toolkits, guides, and dashboards that empower leaders.
- Contribute to projects and initiatives that support our people and culture strategy, including work that helps us foster a more inclusive workplace.
- Support initiatives that strengthen attraction, development, and retention of diverse talent, with a particular focus on First Nations peoples.
What will you bring?
You’ll bring a positive attitude, curiosity, and a passion for supporting people and communities. You’re someone who:
- Is eager to learn and build HR knowledge in a large, complex organisation.
- Communicates clearly, works collaboratively, and values inclusion and respect.
- Enjoys problem-solving and improving how we support our people.
- Is comfortable using systems and data to support good outcomes.
- We are committed to supporting your development and success in this role.
- A degree in Business, HR, Law, or a related discipline (or working towards one).
- HR exposure or corporate administration experience (internships, graduate roles, or similar) is helpful, but not essential — we value your potential.
So why join us?
- Enjoy a central CBD location.
- Be part of a workplace that values and respects First Nations peoples, cultures, and communities.
- Get hands-on experience across a wide range of HR activities and initiatives.
- Build a career with one of Australia’s largest companies.
- Enjoy opportunities to give back through the Origin Foundation and community partnerships.
- Access employee benefits including discounted energy, gas, internet, and unique EV car subscriptions.
